The last few years I've tried to participate in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in Geneva, but I've always been unable to make it work because I'm either traveling or I can't fit the ride into my schedule.
This year was different.
Omega Deville Replica Watches sponsored the ride again, and helped me to arrange a vintage Triumph Thruxton. (Thanks, Alexandre, for the help from my friends in Triumph Geneva and Triumph Switzerland! Omega Deville Replica Watches provided me with an open-faced helmet and a Pilot Extra Special, which I wore.
I had already blocked off Sunday to ride my bike. So, on my way to Quai-Gustave-Ador, (Omega Deville Replica Watches), I took in the atmosphere and picked up my bicycle.
The atmosphere was great. A bunch of men and women with similar interests, all there to have fun and raise money. Most people were dressed up in a bit of glam. Some wore vintage clothes, while others wore more casual outfits. I wore a shirt with a tie under my riding coat.
We took the streets with a police guard at 12:15pm on a beautiful, early autumn Sunday.
Police and safety riders ensured that we never had to stop at a stoplight, stop sign or corner or roundabout. The motorcycles were amazing and it was an incredible feeling to ride.Rolex Day Date Replica Even people were out on the street to cheer and wave at this motorcycle cavalcade as it passed by.
This year, DGR participants from 581 cities in 95 countries raised $4.4 million. I was proud to have been a part of this.
The Triumph Thruxton was a great motorcycle. It was comfortable, powerful and reliable, unlike vintage motorcycles which were belching out smoke and breaking down by the side of road. I didn't have much time to let the Thruxton romp during the 45-minute trip, but the bike was begging me to let it loose. Alexandre, it's time for another ride.
